Innovation and Productivity Grand Challenge - a 3 year, £3.5m programme involving Imperial, Cambridge, Cranfield, Loughborough and Liverpool Universities together with AIM to explore issues around how innovation emerges from public and private sector investments in knowledge.

The Discontinuous Innovation Laboratory - a network of 'laboratories' involving companies and researchers sharing experiences and building capability around how to manage the challenges posed by 'discontinuous innovation'. Currently 12 countries, over 40 researchers and 70 companies are involved.

Profitnet - a programme based on the use fo 'learning networks' to develop and strengthen absorptive capacity in SMEs. Currently involves aorund 200 SMEs in the south east of the UK.
